A Steampunk Class?

Jeff VanderMeer, among many others, mentioned that Austin Peay is offering a college level, hands-on, steampunk class. As an added bonus they are using The Steampunk Bible as the textbook. Jolly good.

Le Ténéré

More from the Monsters in the Sky game, this group won a photo contest for best real-life presentation. Sweet, isn’t it?

Monsters in the Sky

This is a game piece for a steampunk wargame. Pretty cool looking, right? The game is called Leviathans, and there’s an introduction to the rules available as a free PDF. The complete game isn’t available yet, but the FAQs are enough to get this ex-wargamer salivating. (via @torsteampunk )

Steampunk World’s Fair II

Lots of great thoughts and photos on Beyond Victoriana’s round up of the Steampunk World’s Fair II. This is Mister Jake von Slatt’s Roadster. Wow, right?

Contraption

A lot of people think Steampunk Art is about making something look like it’s made of gears and springs, but it isn’t. You know, the laptop mods, the Nintendo Gameboy, the iPhone stickers that look like clockwork. It’s fake. It may be pretty, it may even be skillfully crafted, but it’s fake. The Steampunk Art I like this weird stuff like this. I have no idea what it is, but it’s elaborately bizarre, wonderfully useless, and beautifully archaic.
